Destination: County Finals

On Tuesday 27th March, ten girls and ten boys travelled to Crossmaglen to take part in the South Armagh section of the Malachy McGeeney Cup for large schools.   Malachy McGeeney, as many of our school community will remember, was a former teacher and Principal of St. Peter's.  He worked hard to promote Gaelic games in Primary Schools throughout Armagh. P3 and P4 Working for a Just World

At the beginning of Lent, Mrs Loughran took an assembly with Key Stage 1 and spoke about the importance of helping others at this time of year.  She shared this year's Trócaire story of Kumba, a seven-year-old girl from Sierra Leone.  It's been more that six months since the devastating mudslide that destroyed her home and killed over 1,000 people in the area of Freetown where she lives. Recycling: It’s no WASTE of time!

Today, Lucinda Scott, from Newry, Mourne and Down District Council visited St. Peter's Primary School to deliver a programme aimed at helping the children to learn about the 'Reduce, Reuse, Recycle' programme.
