Let’s Dance for Ellen

On the 26th October, the staff and children of St. Peter’s Cloughreagh held a three hour Danceathon to fundraise for our very special nursery student, Ellen.

The whole school welcomed Ellen, who arrived by limousine to the Nursery which was transformed into something from Disney World, thanks to the wonderful efforts of Mrs Sloan and her dedicated team. Ellen was greeted with a Princess Party where she looked around her classroom, met with the adults, and enjoyed some delicious cupcakes and presents to celebrate her visit.

The rest of the school then danced the morning away in the hall, enjoying tunes by the very excellent DJs Tracey and Aoife.  (Joke dance moves)

Special thanks must go to Alan Crozier, ACDC Bouncy Castle Hire, for supplying a princess bouncy castle, Nuala Rice and Mona McGinn for their delectable treats, Spar Millvale Services for school refreshments, Seabright Designs for Ellen’s gifts, and Fintan Flood and Sons for the use of a limousine.

On Wednesday 12th December, staff and nursery children presented a cheque to Ellen’s Journey for the amount of £8473.24.  This was a testament to the unbelievable efforts of St. Peter’s children, their families, and friends in the Greater Cloughreagh Community.  We thank everyone for their amazing support and contribution to this cause.

All those associated with St. Peter’s would like to wish Ellen and her family a magical Christmas and a very happy and healthy New Year.

  • Definitely a proud day, two great pupils and fine ambassadors for St. Peter’s. Sadly, unlike Master Tierney, I never got to play in Armagh.

  • Well done Katie and Darragh. It was a long time before I got to play at the Athletic Grounds so I’m a bit jealous.
