Making a Splash – St. Peter’s Style

St. Peter’s swimming team had an exceptional day on Saturday 20th October, at the Swim Ulster Regional Minor School Championships, Bangor. The team was made up of Shea (P5), Ethan (P5), Kayla (P6), Leona (P7), Amy-Lee (P7) and Mia (P7).

There were personal bests all round with swimmers smashing their best swim times!

Kayla started the day with breaststroke followed by backstroke, and has qualified for the All Ireland event being held in Dublin, February 2019.  A super achievement, Kayla!

Shea had excellent swims with PBs in both breaststroke and front crawl. He went on to swim in one final on the day and received a certificate after his breaststroke event.

Ethan also swam excellently and made it to two finals on the day. He received two certificates for his breaststroke and backstroke. He has also qualified and will be off to Dublin to compete in the backstroke event.

Leona got PBs in her front crawl and breaststroke, and will be competing in Dublin in both events.

Mia had two fantastic PBs with amazing swims in her front crawl and breaststroke.

Amy-Lee was the final swimmer of the day competing in breast stroke and reaching the final in the 100m IM (all four strokes).  This fine swimmer also made it through to Dublin to compete in the IM.

A really super team of talented young swimmers, who will surely continue to go from strength to strength with their continued hard work and dedication in the pool.

Well done, everyone!
