Computer Club

Computer Club began on September 23rd with children from Primary 6. Research, creativity and collaboration is the focus of the club which caters for small groups of children in 5 weekly sessions. Active To School with Sustrans

Pamela from Sustrans visited St. Peter's on 16th September to talk to the children about becoming more active.  The Sustrans initiative encourages children to walk and cycle more in rural areas.   Did you know that only 2% of children in Northern Ireland take a bike to school?  Pamela brought along her bike Bertie and showed us how he folds up into a tiny package.  He's sure to be on »»»

For the pun of it!

Every Tuesday at 1:30pm an expectant hush falls over the assembly hall at St. Peter's as  P7 children shuffle impatiently in their seats.  The atmosphere is electric and excitement is palpable because it's poetry time with the guest teacher, Master Campbell!   Something told the Wild Geese by Rachel Field was the first poem explored by P7, highlighting order in nature and the instinct that »»»

Chilly Start to the New School Year for Mr Campbell and Mrs Burns

Mr Campbell and Mrs Burns braved the cold and took part in the Ice Bucket Challenge to raise money for Newry Hospice.  Children, parents and staff looked on as the two fundraisers took to the ready-made boxing ring with their entourage. Without notice Mr Campbell rushed at Mrs Burns with a roundhouse punch which was only narrowly averted.  Mrs Burns replied with her own uppercut, »»»
